On October 27 Midea and American Institute of Architects (AIA), one of the world's two most authoritative architects associations, officially announced their strategic partnership themed "Build Green" at the award ceremony of the AIA|LA Annual Design Competition. The two parties will cooperate with local construction industry forces such as architectural designers and builders to give full play to their respective professional advantages to jointly publicize and promote the application of air energy heat pump, thus facilitating the decarbonization of buildings in North America by this new low-carbon heating concept.
As an authoritative organization with more than 90,000 registered members worldwide, AIA has always taken "creation for a healthier ecology, a safer environment and cleaner energy" as one of the defining guidelines for outstanding architectural design in the 21st century, and has continuously promoted the "AIA 2030 Commitment". In responding to its appeal, over 400 companies launched carbon-reduction programs last year. In this year's design competition, AIA takes the compliance with the green building standards proposed by the California government as the award-winning benchmark, endowing the competition a connotation of environmental protection. Representatives of government authorities and industrial associations, including Amy Anderson, Chief Housing Officer of the Mayor's Office of Los Angeles, Lori Ferriss, Climate Policy Advisor of Boston, and Robyn Eason, Manager of the United States Green Building Council, witnessed the AlA's magnificent influence in the decarbonization of buildings. On this special occasion, AIA presented Midea as its partner to advocate an energy-saving home lifestyle for the first time.
In the future, Midea will work with AIA designers to present localized paradigms of low-carbon buildings and demonstrate the diversified applications of energy-efficient heat pump systems in home life. AIA|LA will also set up a "Midea Green Tech" themed exhibition area in its Los Angeles office building and community center to be completed in the first half of the next year, to illustrate Midea's high-efficiency heat pump technology and multi-split zoning application system technology, focusing on the comfortable and low-carbon building concept jointly upheld by both sides. At the time, everyone visiting the new AIA|LA building will enjoy the more aesthetic, energy-saving and comfortable home life in low-carbon buildings.
Regarding the strategic partnership, AIA|LA President Mitra Memari said: "We firmly believe that it is the right to do to create sustainable, environmentally friendly buildings. Good architectural design not only provides us with a place to live, but also cultivates a healthy lifestyle, such as using more energy-saving products and applying more environmentally friendly materials. Therefore, we're looking forward to a partnership with Midea, a like-minded corporate." Carlo Caccavale, the creative executive director, expressed his expectation for working with Midea. "We know that Midea has been actively engaged in building decarbonization projects such as 'Clean Heat for All' in North America, and has established solid cooperative relations with energy bureaus and state organizations. This shows us its sense of responsibility and strength in popularizing clean heating technology and makes us full of confidence in this cooperation."
Gregory Thomas, a senior application engineer at Midea American Research Center (MARC), attended the event on behalf of the brand and communicated with experts in the construction industry and representatives of various organizations about Midea's cutting-edge housing heating solutions. "MARC has rich practical experience and R&D resources in innovative inverter heat pump technology." Gregory said, "For low-carbon heating of apartment buildings, we have developed a new generation of innovative products like window heat pumps. Also, we have launched a customizable inverter heat pump system for air conditioner replacement in old houses. Midea has always been committed to providing more flexible and energy-efficient heating systems, thus encouraging more North American families to try the low-carbon heat pump." At the scene, Gregory's sharing attracted many participating architects with strong interest in Midea's energy-efficient heat pump products and solutions.
Orienting Development to Local Markets, Midea Integrates into Industrial Associations for Localized Product
In fact, this is not the first time that Midea has been deeply engaged in local professional associations in North America. At the beginning of this year, Midea became a corporate partner of Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), the largest air conditioning contractor association in the United States. David Rames, Senior Product Manager of MARC, was invited to the 2022 ACCA annual seminar and exhibition on behalf of the brand. Behind the scene and on the stage, Midea engineers have been active in professional associations and contractor communities. They are not only passionate about exchanges and discussions on product technology iteration and upgrading, but also devoted to demonstrating diversified applications like EVOX heat pump multi-split system with honorary members of associations, thus promoting the popularization of efficient inverter systems in the air conditioning replacement market. Midea insists on integration into various professional circles for its "sincerity" in technology, and for its commitment to users and the industry. It constantly develop and upgrade products that are more suitable for pursuit of comfortable North American lifestyle, thus promoting application of energy-efficient heat pump technology and leading the low-carbon transformation of the air conditioning industry.
